I remember him singing as he shaved every morning, moving around the house, in his car or when he carried me to bed to read me a goodnight story. He often waltzed a few dance steps with a woman in his arms – Mum, Nan, any of my aunts or had me stand on top pf his feet as we sashayed down the long corridor at home.
Questions I’d love to ask Dad bubble away in the dark corners of my mind at times and I’d especially love to introduce him to my first grandchild, Toby. Dad and I could discuss books as I inherited both my looks and colouring from him as well as my lifetime passion for books and reading.
Whose voice would you like to hear again? What questions should you ask them now? How could you preserve that person’s voice to enable you to listen to it in the future?
